Thomas faculty infuse environmental learning into their courses

How do you turn a conventional class into a hands-on exercise in environmental learning? Enroll in a course with Philomena McPhee-Brown ’69, M.S. ’01, Ed.D and learn how to build a birch-bark canoe, go on a Web quest and write a PowerPoint presentation.

Or travel to the hot rock of Bermuda, where Jeannie Hamrin, Ed.D, opens students’ eyes to the adverse impact that thousands of residents and tourists have on this small, sinking island. Learn, too, how a grain of sand contains some of the most beautiful jewels in the world.
